There is a school in the Washington, D.C area in Bethesda, Maryland, that is banning all “Home Team” apparel.

The Green Acres School sent a letter to families announcing the change, saying children and staff members should not be wearing clothing that “disparages a race of people.”

Bryan Garman who is head of The Green Acres School said that after a class discussion that the faculty and staff had decided to be respectful of people’s feelings and decided to not allow their students to wear any Home Team Apparel.

Green Acres School teaches students from 3 years old through the 8th Grade.

A similar ban on sensitive logo apparel was set in place last year at Prestigious Sidwell Friends School; the school most President’s kids attend in Northwest Washington, D.C.
