The NAACP (National Association For the Advancement of Colored People) is holding their 108th National Convention in Baltimore, Maryland at the Baltimore Convention Center, July 22-26, 2017. The organization invited President Donald Trump to address the aggregation, however, he he will not be speaking. White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders says the president has declined the invitation to address the nation’s oldest civil rights organization.

Trump did not speak to the NAACP convention last year either, citing scheduling conflicts with the Republican National Convention. He was the first GOP presidential nominee in years not to address the NAACP.

The NAACP invited the president to its annual convention but found out from reporters that Sanders had announced that the president would not attend.

I’m just thinking…it would have been a good look for him, especially since all of the news coming from the White House about our President has not been favorable. This move has people feeling like the promises he made on the campaign trail may not come to fruition.
