Contemporary Christian Artist and American Idol Finalist Mandisa made an appearance on Good Morning America this week, where she shared about her journey struggling with depression.

Mandisa, who hadn’t appeared on GMA since 2013 when she performed in honor of Robin Roberts return to the show after her bone marrow transplant, shared that it took God and the help of some close friends to bring her out. The death of a treasured friend from breast cancer shook the Award Winning Artist “to the core” and into a spiral of depression that she admits she wasn’t prepared for and even had her thinking suicidal thoughts.

The journey back to wholeness wasn’t easy but she is making steps everyday.

Celebrating the upcoming release of her new project entitled “Out of the Darkness”, she performed the first single entitled “Unfinished”, a proclamation to the work still at hand and the fact that we are all works in progress with God’s help.

Can’t wait to hear new music from this anointed woman of God.
