UNIFYING LESSON PRINCIPLE:

Although we are forewarned, some life events are beyond the realm of our imaginations. How do we respond at these times? Even though the disciples were confounded when they entered the empty tomb, they experienced a new birth into a living hope through the Resurrection.

CONCLUDING REFLECTION:

Jesus’ resurrection from the dead not only is the most incredible ever in recorded history, but it is also the foundation of our belief. Nothing we profess would be possible if Jesus had stayed dead. Of Jesus’ followers, only the three women planned to visit the tomb. The disciples were still mourning the loss of their beloved Brother. Eventually, they came to believe that Jesus had risen, beginning with John.

PRAYER:

Merciful God, we give you all the praise this morning as we celebrate anew your Son Jesus’ resurrection. We are thankful that He died, but we are overjoyed that He rose again. We look forward to that day when we shall see you face to face. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
