UNIFYING LESSON PRINCIPLE:

The rewards garnered from wholesome relationships may be shattered by unloving and unfaithful actions. How can these relationships be restored to their former glory? John reminded us of a loving, forgiving God who seeks to restore and guarantee eternal life, while Joel recounted the benefits that emanate from a restored relationship with God.

CONCLUDING REFLECTION:

Ever showing His covenant love, God reached out to His chosen people, literally begging them to repent. God still shows that same love today. Despite the continued downward spiral of the world’s morality, God still seeks to restore those He has called. Some need to accept God’s call for the first time, while others have strayed on the journey and need to make their way back home.

PRAYER:

Faithful God, we thank you today for calling us to you. We gladly accept your call daily in our service to others. Continue to bless us to reflect your glory on earth. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
