UNIFYING LESSON PRINCIPLE:

In our human condition, we search for that which enables us to love and be loved by others. Where do we find the authentic source of this love? The writer of this gospel said that God is the source of an all-encompassing love that empowers us to love God and one another.

CONCLUDING REFLECTION:

The culminating act of agape love is to share the saving power of Christ with those who are dead in their trespasses and sins. Agape love is all about sacrifice. It is about giving and seeking nothing in return. It is about pleasing God. The ultimate example of agape love is captured in John 3:16. God willingly offered up His Son to die for our sins, but not because He had to. No, God did it because He loved us. After all, we have no way to repay God for what He has done for us.

PRAYER:

Loving God, we humbly ask you to help us to live lives of love daily. Give us the grace to keep us in your Son and to accept your spiritual pruning. We ask it all in your Son Jesus’ name. Amen.
