The University of Maryland is usually a fixture in the NCAA Basketball Tournament and usually a fixture in the latter rounds.
It’s been 20 years since Maryland made it to the Big Dance and didn’t get out of the first round – until yesterday. It was a heart breaker when 11 Seeded Xavier University upended the 6th Seeded University of Maryland.
Now Xavier moves on to the top 32 while Maryland goes home.
The underclass players for the Terps are feeling kinda down because they wanted the outgoing seniors to advance, but after that didn’t happen they are considering this loss a major failure.
The only question for the University of Maryland is whether Melo Trimble who had 13 points will return for his final year or enter the NBA Draft and try to turn pro.
