Years ago, Chris Johnson of the NFL came to the League Combine and ran and 40-yard dash that has stood the test of time. He ran the 40 yard sprint in 4.24 seconds.
Many have tried to break that record but it stood until this past week.
Athletic apparel company Adidas was giving away $1,000,000 to any player at the Combine that could break Chris Johnson’s record in the 40 yard dash.
Adidas has done similar stunts in the past. They gave out $100,000 to Brandin Cooks from the New Orleans Saints when he ran the fastest 40 yard dash at the combine in 2014.

Last year Adidas was trying to give out Cheetah-painted Porches to the fastest man, but the league stepped in and stopped it because they have a deal with GM, so they handed out $100,000 to Trae Waynes, Philip Dorsett and Kevin White, the three fastest athletes who signed with Adidas.
But this year, Adidas upped the stakes and offered the fastest man at the Combine $1,000,000!!! A guy named “John Ross” ran the 40 and broke the record!!
Only one problem!!!! John Ross was wearing “NIKE” shoes, and in the fine print it said that the person had to be wearing Adidas shoes.
He didn’t read the fine print – so NO $1,000,000!!!
