The State of Maryland is getting a brand new Park – but not just any park; this one will honor a champion of freedom, human and civil rights.
It will be called “The Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park.”
This park will be with the State and National Parks and will be on Maryland’s Eastern Shore in Dorchester County and is scheduled to open on the weekend of March 11. Officials on the Federal and State levels are expected to be on hand on this 17-acre park for the Grand Opening ceremony on March 10.
March 10th is the Anniversary of Harriet Tubman’s death.
