A local Prince George’s County School Bus Driver got the surprise of her life of Talk Show host Ellen DeGeneres.
Renita Smith who is touted as a local hero got all 20 elementary school kids off a school bus that caught fire when driving the kids home from school.
She managed to get all 20 students off the bus and to safety and even went back onto the burning bus to see if she had gotten them all off and she had. She said “I just had to make sure all my babies were off the bus.”
Well the Ellen DeGeneres Show heard about this story and flew Renita and her kids to Los Angeles to be a guest on the show. While explaining to DeGeneres what actually happend with all the details, Ellen said we want to give you a check for $20,000!!!!
