While not most of last weeks attention went to San Francisco 49er’s Quarterback Colin Kaepernick, all of last weeks attention went to Colin Kaepernick for his refusal to stand during the singing of the National Anthem during a 49er’s Pre-Season game.  Every talk show, whether it’s political or sports talk was dominated by his refusal to stand.

Last night in San Diego before a pre-season game between the 49er’s and the San Diego Chargers, Kaepernick didn’t sit on the bench, this time he fell to his knee in silent protest, but this time he was not alone, and this time he was not alone, he was joined by teammate Eric Reed.

But here’s something interesting, Kaepernick is starting to get support from around the league.  In another game last night in Oakland with the Raiders and Seattle Seahawks; Seattle cornerback Jeremy Lane showed support of Kaepernick by sitting on the bench during the National Anthem.

Kaepernick got light boos during the anthem, but a storm of boos filled the air when he took the field at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.  The 49er’s actually won the game 31-21.
