Police say a 16-year-old shot a man at Metro’s Anacostia Station Tuesday afternoon and is among the suspects in custody.
Metro Transit Police say just one person was wounded; the 24-year-old was breathing and conscious. Around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, police said the victim had been released from the hospital.
Police say a 16-year-old shot the man on a Green Line train. Investigators initially believed the individual was 15 years old, because he provided false information when arrested.
Witnesses helped police identify two suspects — the 16-year-old and a 19-year-old — involved. Police were able to capture video of the pair leaving the station on foot and share it with Metropolitan police, who quickly stopped them, Metro says.
Earlier, Metro police released a photo of two additional people who they said may have been involved. They later said the original two individuals in custody were the only people involved.
