Police in the District of Columbia say an officer fatally shot a man in northeast Washington.
Police spokesperson Aquita Brown said early Monday that the shooting happened around 2 a.m. She says the man who was shot was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Brown did not have details about what led up to the shooting or whether the officer was injured.
