HYDE PARK, N.Y. — A Maryland man who pleaded guilty in a violent kidnapping and robbery in the Hudson Valley has been sentenced to 19 years in state prison.
The Poughkeepsie Journal reports Victor Denny of Forestville, Maryland, was sentenced Thursday in exchange for pleading guilty to first-degree robbery and second-degree kidnapping.
Prosecutors said Denny was one of four people involved in the robbery of a Hyde Park credit union on Oct. 8, 2014, and the kidnapping and assault of a 23-year-old man.
They said Denny and another Maryland man entered the bank armed with guns, pistol-whipped a teller and terrorized customers. This was after they kidnapped and violently assaulted a man to use his car for the robbery.
