PRINCE GEORGE, Va. — Police say an 18-year-old high school senior at Prince George County High School died in a vehicle accident on her way to pick up her diploma.
Prince George County Police say they received a report of an overturned vehicle with a driver trapped inside on Saturday morning. Police and rescue officials were able to extract the driver from the vehicle, but she was pronounced dead after arriving at a medical center.
Police say Sierra Lynn Barbar Wise ran off a roadway and stuck a tree.
Her high school graduation ceremony was scheduled to begin about two hours after the wreck was reported.
