Today is a sad day for the Jericho City of Praise church. Their Senior Pastor, Betty Peebles has passed away. Peebles along with her husband, Bishop James R. Peebles Sr. who passed away 14 years ago, founded the Jericho City of Praise in 1969.
Apostle Betty Peebles is known as a loving and caring woman, who was very motivational. She was also the author of many books, and a role model to many of her congregation members. All in all, Peebles wrote over 100 different books.
A message on the Jericho City of Praise website from her son and Assistant Pastor Joel R. Peebles, Sr. said:
“It is with a sorrowful spirit that I announce the passing to glory of my beloved mother and your beloved Apostle, Betty P. Peebles. Her smile will forever be etched in our hearts. Please continue to keep my family and the church family in your prayers. Information on services & celebration is forthcoming.

Apostle Betty Peebles was the mother of 3 sons.
