TIME Magazine Reveals Person of the Year

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is a shining star – one that’s still rising. Not only has become the talk of the town as the genius behind everyone’s favorite social media networking site, but now he’s officially received the nation’s stamp of approval as TIME magazine’s 2010 “Person of the Year.”

The 26-year-old is reportedly the youngest to take home this title since the “Person of the Year” was award was created. Back in 1927, Charles Lindbergh (the first “Person of the Year” ever) was just one year younger than Zuckerberg.

What makes the title so special Zuckerberg? He even beat out Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, who was 26 when she was named “POTY” in 1952, by just two weeks. This is huge news and it’s already got us talking around the station.

While Vick was shinning over on the NFL Network, Lebron James had basic cable on smash. Lebron James destroyed his former team the Cleveland Cavaliers, scoring 38pts 8 ast. 5 rebounds. Check it out below!

NBC4 FOOD 4 Families Is Helping The Community

This is the 5th year for the NBC4 FOOD 4 Families campaign. The 5th Annual NBC4 FOOD 4 Families campaign is on the horizon! On Monday, November 22, 2010 beginning 6am-6pm, NBC4 Food 4 Families and WMMJ(*) will be on site in front of the Verizon Center collecting donations, (if you are making a donation, please make checks payable to NBC4 FOOD 4 Families), and non-perishable items that are not dated.
Your invited to join the team on site at the Verizon Center, where we will be broadcasting live throughout the day.
Prior to November 22nd, if you would like to make a donation, they can be made online at NBCWashington.com using secure site.
Since the beginning of this worthy campaign, almost 40,000 families throughout our region have received Thanksgiving baskets.

The Rev. Al Sharpton led a march and rally in Washington, DC over the weekend to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King’s historic 1963 March on Washington. Themed “Relclaim the Dream” to counter conservative TV host Glenn Beck’s rally that took place the same day at the actual site where Dr. King delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech the march swelled into many tens of thousands as it left Dunbar High School and ended at the proposed site of the MLK memorial.
