FREE STEM Program to County Girls

MNCPPC%20for%20webThe Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission’s (M-NCPPC) Department of Parks and Recreation is offering a FREE 6-week science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) program for Prince George’s County girls, grades 5 through 12 starting this March.  

The Pearl Project is a grassroots, home-to-school model of strategic support designed to help children reach their academic potential through STEM.  This 6-week program is geared for culturally, linguistically, ethnically, diverse youth to encourage them to embrace potential future careers in STEM. The program will help to build problem solving, creative and critical thinking behavior, engage students in interdisciplinary STEM content and use real world tasks to help students grow. 

The M-NCPPC Department of Parks and Recreation Pearl Project will be held at three locations starting March 20, 2013:
